Winter, and with it the inability to stay warm, is finally coming to Japan. Last year was a bit of a surprise as far as the lack of good heating around here, so this year I’ve had the foresight to prepare in anticipation of the arctic cold that will be my apartment. That foresight involved breaking out my kotatsu and moving everything from the other room into here. Kotatsus have become a sort of obsession for me of late, and with good reason! Kotatsus wrap your body in warmth and love; they give and give without ever asking for anything in return. So kotatsu, here’s a haiku for you!
against frigid cold
you cover this frail body
my warm kotatsu

ooo, comfy kotatsu! nice apple-y workstation there ;)

Thanks! Yeah, I’m amazed how nicely everything fits on there. Just one more reason why I love my kotatsu!

That’s something I should have invested in . . .
Well, be warm. It’s fun to see your setup too.

Yeah, it’s not something you’d normally think of to buy. Luckily in my case it was left to me by the previous owners so all I had to do was take it out of storage, plug it in, and let the kotatsu do all the rest.
Also sounds like you had a great time down in the Las Vegas area and checking out the grand canyon. Can’t wait to hear more about it!

Oooh, kotatsu… seems delightful. At our house, I make do with three layers of comforters!

hmmm, I suppose multiple comforters would work too, though perhaps harder to write a catchy haiku about, eheheh :)
